Thank you for visiting this website which could be the  first step towards changing your life.
These are some of the problems I may be able to help you with:  Fears, Anxieties, Weight management, Grief, Physical issues, Depression, Phobias, Traumas etc.

If you have suffered unpleasant experiences in life (divorce, death, abuse, trauma) you may have the resilience to overcome them and lead a normal life.   Some people however find it's not that easy because they've been left with the emotional aftermath.  The effects of the aftermath can be detrimental to their emotional wellbeing.   If this sounds like you, then it's important to seek help for your Emotional Health from a professional because if left unattended, ultimately your Psychological and Physical Health could be affected too*.

Whilst conventional medicines such as anti-depressants, stimulants,  painkillers etc treat your symptoms (with possible side affects)....I help you to identify the underlying  cause of your problems and introduce you to healthier coping strategies**

All sessions are collaborative, characterized by a balance of understanding of your distress, insight about relational patterns, and uncovering thoughts or behaviors that might be sabotaging your progress. I’d hope to help you understand root causes of issues and make lasting changes. I don't just listen, I get you to dig deep into past issues and give you homework too.  For example, you may be asked to experiment with new behaviours or consider alternative coping strategies.  Your participation in the healing process generates a sense of achievement and can be fun.

I offer a Free Consultation because it's important that we decide if we can work together.  During the consultation I will ask you questions from your Consultation Form and if you feel comfortable with me, an appointment will be arranged.  My treatment approach is holistic  which means I incorporate various therapeutic methods and may suggest a referral to another professional such as a nutritionist, psychiatrist, doctor, physician or complementary health specialist.  I generally incorporate a gentle and safe technique called
EFT .  EFT  has been clinically proven to assist in restoring emotional wellbeing, thus leading to improved physical health.

I will also teach you how to use EFT to speed up the healing process, resulting in fewer sessions.  A simple phobia or a traumatic memory can be removed in one session for example but something more complex usually takes longer. My practice receives referrals from doctors, psychologists and psychiatrists. If you'd like to hear from a few of my clients who have experienced EFT, please read the
Thank You page.

If you're searching for a reputableTherapist then I would suggest you ask around. first.  You should ask about their qualifications and if they believe they are competent to help you.  They should also offer an initial consultation so you get to know one another.  You should not feel obliged to continue if you feel uncomfortable. In addition, here are some other considerations you should look for in a reputable Therapist....

Are they listening to you and are not being judgemental?  Are they helping you to understand where your behaviours, thoughts or emotions originate from?  Are they guiding you  through your problems towards making the positive changes you desire?  Are they putting your safety first  ("first do no harm" principle) by utilising techniques to contain and maintain a trauma?  Have they agreed to treat your issues in the strictest confidence?  Have they discussed how they work and how the sessions will end?  A reputable Therapist should not extend your sessions for longer than is necessary or fail to refer you on if they cannot help you.

* Abstract from study by Strine, Chapman, Balluz, and,Mokdad: ............ “Inadequate social and emotional support is a major barrier to health relevant to the practice of psychiatry and medicine, because it is associated with adverse health behaviors, dissatisfaction with life, and disability” (2008. p).  The importance of maintaining a good mental health is crucial to living a long  and healthy life.  It was also concluded in research that people who lack emotional expression lead to misfit behaviors. These behaviors are a direct reflection of their mental health. Self- destructive acts may take place to suppress emotions. Some of these acts include drug and alcohol abuse, physical fights or vandalism. 154). By receiving
emotional support,  your health can increase and prevent mental health disorders
. Support systems are a valuable asset and those whom do not have social and emotional support are more likely to lead to disorders. The right support can lead to “an increase personal competence perceived control, sense of stability, and recognition of self- worth and can have a positive effect on quality of life”(Strine, Chapman, Balluz & Mokdad, 2008).
